Plant your amaryllis bulbs now....

....so they will bloom in time for the Christmas holiday! Blooming time takes 6 to 8 weeks.

I chose a "Red Lion" this year. I'm hoping mine will look as gorgeous as in the photo above.

Oh, and by the way, thank you all for identifying the fat skimmer in the previous post!

Thanks for this timely reminder. Every year I want to do this, but never seem to think of it at the right time.

What a great idea...I have never tried to get one blooming for the holidays, that would be fun!

I love that flower, but I have never grown any. Maybe this year!

Hi,
I just planted a new Red Lion. It's always my favorite for Christmas. I have others that spent the summer outside in my garden. They are in the dark...waiting for a few weeks before I bring them out to start getting ready to bloom.

Thanks for the reminder. I planted some and Narcissus last year and had forgotten to get some bulbs for this year. I'm off to the garden center.

Amaryllis is my moms favorite flower, this made me think of her.;) I recall being in Puerto Rico once, seeing amaryllis growing outside as a bush.;) A sight never seen in Scandinavia.;)
